WOW, what a fantastic day we had today. It was absolutely amazing. We went from Wilderswil Switzerland to Jungfrau Joch Switzerland. It is one of the tallest mountains in the Swiss Alps that has access all the way to the top. We had to take 3 separate trains in order to reach the levels where we could then walk the rest of the way. On the train rides up the mountain and at a few stops we had to make to change trains, there were goats and cows who had huge bells attached to collars that they wore we even got to see a true Saint Bernard with a first aid barrel attached to its collar. I thought that was only in movies and cartoons lol. There were waterfalls and beautiful mountain streams all over the place and the water is safe enough that you can refill a water bottle with natural water and not have to worry.

Talk about amazing views from the train....Ooo but they got so much better from the top of the mountain and the plateaus that you could actually walk out on. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life. I have been to the top of a small mountain back home in NH to ski from but this...this was gigantic rock formations covered in snow for as far as the eye could see. Hopefully the pictures will give you some idea of what we felt. The mountain is 3,454 meters high which is 11,332 feet, which of course can give you altitude sickness. I got a brutal headache and mom had some balance issues, but nothing was going to stop us from enjoying the time we had up here.

After spending time on top of the mountain it was time to go back to our hotel. Urs Raber and his wife made a delicious meal yet again. I would recommend this place (Hotel Schönbühl website ) to anyone who wants to visit this area. I would love to do some more exploring in the summer months, as winter really isn’t my season ;)
