I did it! I booked my flights for my travels to Australia and New Zealand...along with a "layover" in Fiji!
There is a big relief in knowing that I am booked and that I am actually going!
In a nice surprise I have someone who is going to be travleing with me for 4 weeks in Fiji and parts of Australia. In talking to a friend she mentioned she knew someone who was looking to go and wondered if I had some tips since I had done some extensive research. I said sure thing! Next thing you know we meet up and we book the trip...HA! It is amazing what life throws at you.
I am looking forward to exploring all that these places have to offer!
I know I am not leaving until Dec 10th, but I will be updating this as I go along with the kinds of things I am going through in getting ready, if anyone cares to read it :)
In leaving NSMC I was given a book by a lovely coworker called "Tracks", about an Australian women who gave up everything, went to Alice Springs to try and tame camels to cross the Outback. Don't get any ideas.....I have NO intenstions of doing anything like that! Sure riding a camel, getting in water with crocs, snorkeling the great barrier reef I will do those kinds of things, but going across the Outback....no thanks :)
The last page I read last night, really hit home with me in what I have been going through the past few months in trying to decide what to do, when to do it and should I do it.
"And it struck me then that the most difficult thing had been the decision to act, the rest had been merely tenacity - and the fears were paper tigers. One really could do anything one had decided to do wheither it were changing a job, moving to a new place, divorcing a hudband or whatever, one really could act to change and control one's life and the procedure, the process, was its own reward."
I think that everyone has doubts as to whether or not things will work out if they make a change, but how do you know if you don't try. Worse case, you try something else. Live each day as if it were your last, you never know what tomorrow brings.
