Last night I stayed at Slickock campground was nice. It had some sites that actually had shelters on the sites that you could put your tent under so if it rained, your tent stayed mainly dry. I have never seen anything like that before, it is a great idea. It was a little expensive to stay here ($30) for one person, but it was local and I just needed a place to crash.

I got up early today and was able to catch the sunrise today at Arches National Park. There were quite a few people here doing the same thing as myself of course and it really cool to see the colors of the rocks so early in the morning. I really wanted to catch the sun coming through one of the arches but there were too many people standing in the middle of it so I wasn’t able to. Oh well, next time right?

I spent the whole day walking around looking at all of the arches and doing all of the walks around here. The nice thing about this was that the weather was relatively cool compared to really hot days so it was definitely bearable walking in the open “desert” areas. You can see the size of some of the arches, they are really big. I was able to get under most of them, and set my camera up for a "selfie" under the Sand Dune Arch, which was a little difficult because the sand was kind of deep and very soft which made it hard to run in.

The one walk that I really wanted to do was out to Delicate Arch, but it was fairly long and if I wanted to see more things here I couldn’t do that one. And since I was by myself, doing such a long walk didn’t really strike my fancy this time. Maybe next time I am in the area I can hike to it. I did get to see it from a far though and you could see people who were out there checking it out.

I ran into a few "friends" along the trails that I walked. I love to take pictures of animals that you don't normally see up close and personal. I had to do a little bit of waiting and planning with the lizards since they are quick little buggers. One of them had a blue tail which I have never seen before. I looked it up and it is called....yup you guessed it, Blue Tailed Lizard hahahhaa. I also found this little kid who was so incredibly enthralled by a lizard sitting on a rock. He sat on another rock across from it and just stared at it. His mom was so funny just watching him. I had to get a picture because I thought it was so cute. Ok, so taking pictures of some strangers kid might sound odd but I didn't get his face in it so it isn't THAT creepy :) I also got the opportunity to check out a mommy and 2 baby deer walking in the brush, and a lot of people didn't even see them so it was nice to be able to watch them semi alone.
