Since I'm down in North Carolina for the next few months I'm trying desperately to take advantage of the locations near me and tour them.
This weekend I went to lovely ole old Charleston. I did quite a bit of research ahead of time to try and figure out which areas of Charleston I wanted to see. A lot of sites told me to stay away from Rainbow row which is a row of houses that are painted in pastel colors, primarily because of street signs and cars being in the way of wanting to take pictures. Yet, when I got there I found plenty of ways to take pictures of the houses maybe not the most ideal to professional photographers but I think I was able to capture the beauty and essence of old Charleston, but you'll be able to see what I mean.
Throughout the streets there are all sorts of cool things to take pictures of, from water fountains to houses and trees, graveyards, archways I mean the list goes on and on. I spent the whole day walking around this city. Besides all of the cool architecture to see, there are a ton of stores and shops/markets that you can find people selling hand made crafts and tons of places to eat.
Even though I did a lot of research, I apparently missed the whole northern section of the city. I guess that might be another trip down there.
I also visited a place called Shem Creek. It is on the right side of the river to Charleston. There is a nice boardwalk that you can walk down the river to see the fishing boats, a ton of animals if you are quiet and look close enough and it would be a beautiful place to watch a sunrise.
I wanted to check out Patriots Point but ran out of time since I wanted to see Brook Green Gardens on the way home and I knew that was going to be a good 4 hours or so.
That will be in the next post since I have so many pictures to share.
